The AI in Your Workplace. Part 2.
The AI Marketplace: How Big Are Chatbots, AI Assistants, LLMs, and Agents?
In the first part of this series, “The AI in Your Workplace: AI Demystified,” we established the foundational definitions and capabilities of the modern digital workforce.
We explored the evolution from rigid rule-based scripts to the autonomous reasoning of AI agents, mapping out a spectrum of autonomy that differentiates reactive chatbots, semi-proactive assistants, and goal-directed agents.
We also addressed the emerging “GenAI Divide,” a phenomenon where, according to some analysis, 90% of organizations are effectively exploring AI, but only a tiny fraction is currently extracting measurable business value.
While Part 1 focused on demystifying what these tools are and how they reason, to continue with our analysis, in Part 2 we shifted the focus to the marketplace reality.
In this installment of the series, we will analyze the staggering scale of global investment, projected growth across different sectors, and the specific trends driving the shift from simple conversational interfaces to a multi-billion-dollar agentic ecosystem.
